01Who are the courses for?
Engineers and the people who lead them, level by level. Associate: the foundations of a software factory. Professional: building a software factory.
02What does it cost?
Lessons and practice questions are free. Each exam is $25, a one-time payment through Paddle, our merchant of record, and includes one free retry. Exam fees are non-refundable. Tax is added at checkout.
03How does the exam work?
It is timed and multiple choice, drawn at random from a pool twice its length, so no two papers are the same. The pass mark is 80%. The exam watches for leaving the tab, leaving full screen, and copying or pasting; after five warnings it ends and is scored as it stands.
04What happens if I do not pass?
Your free retry opens 24 hours later, with a fresh set of questions. If you do not pass the retry, you can buy the exam again.
05Does the certificate expire?
No. It shows your name, the credential and the date it was issued. It does not show your score. Anyone can check it at academy.openfactoryai.co/verify.
06Do I have to take the levels in order?
It is recommended, not required. Each level assumes you know the one before it.
07Do I need to use openFactory?
No. The courses teach the software factory as a way of working, with whatever coding agents and tools you already use.
08I have a partner code. Where do I use it?
Open the course, sign in, and choose “Have a partner code?” under the exam. A code covers the exam and its free retry.
